Well, I’ve been at the airport about an hour now and I’m already finding myself antsy :-P Check in went okay after shuffling 3lbs out of my largest bag and squeezing it into my smaller one to meet the South West’s 50lb limit. Qantas allows 70lbs but only 15 for the carryon, where as Southwest has no carryon limit. So one of my carryon bags is 20lbs and the other is 25! I will have plenty of time to shuffle in LAX during my 5+ hours there!
In the two minutes that I was sitting still at the gate I found myself thinking about the time we were going on the cruise for grandma and granddad’s 50th anniversary. I was about 13 years old and it was my first time flying (besides when I flew as a baby out to WA state). As we checked our bags we realized we had forgotten our birth certificates, which we needed to get on the cruise so Dad headed home (about 20min from the airport) to get them. I can remember sitting in the Cinna-bon at the airport with Mom, Ellen, and maybe Grandma and being so worried that Dad was not going to make it back in time. Well, as this was some time ago I don’t remember all the details but he did make it back in time!
Unlike that day, I’ve felt pretty relaxed so far! I think having flown this course before helps! Although, I did try to get on a flight to Tennessee – oppss. . . . I thought they were boarding early for a 12:55 flight! “Yes, Laura, more than ONE flight leaves from YOUR gate everyday – lol”
So I’m Just killing time now; eating the lunch mom packed at the nice counter thing that Southwest has in their waiting area. It even has outlets and USB outlets to charge your ipods and mp3 players – wow!
I think all my math is right! Dad? Allison? Marian?
Wow! Can’t believe I’m actually on my way!

In an airport you can’t help but wonder where people are going and why; so fascinating! What is you Final Destination?
Sounds like a book title – “You Final Destination” or just “Final Destination” “The Final Destination”? huh – it probably already is a book – soo many books out there. Okay, about to board the plane.
