Wow - so it has been two weeks since I landed here. It feels like so much longer!!
Finally seem to have almost regained my health!! No more fever!! Just a lingering cough remains. Not sure if the fluid is gone from behind my eardrum but I'm not in any pain so it's good.
Spent yesterday and today shadowing some of the other instructors so that was really neat to see some of the activities and stuff I will be running eventually. We still have three more weeks of training before we actually start but this week gave us a pretty good feel for what we will be doing.
For training we will be at some other sites Mon-Wed doing mostly theology training then back here for activities training on Thursdays and Fridays. Should be fun and educational.
I have lots of pics and even a video of my house ready to post I just have to bring them up to the staff computers.

Oh - it was warm today!!! Summer is on it's way!
Kind of sad that I've only been here fo two weeks of cold weather, and it wasn't even that cold, and I'm already ready for summer again!

Welcome!
This blog is my attempt to keep in contact with family and friends during my nine month internship in Australia! Starting in September and ending in April, I will be living and working at Shoalhaven Conference Centres, located near Nowra, about 3 hours South of Sydney! Check back for updates as I venture to the Land Down Under and experience my first year in "the real world," sort of!
Title Explanation
Messin’ – Not at all intended to imply that I will be “goofing off” in Australia; as the main purpose of this trip is to work and serve in a new setting in which I will learn and grow whilst hopefully having heaps of fun!
-During sophomore year I acquired the nickname “Mess” and it stuck, hence the Messin’ :)
Oz – If you haven’t figured it out already, Oz is a common and fondly used nickname for Australia, shortened to Aussie, pronounced Ozzie, shortened to Oz :)

Oh my gosh!!! Every time I try to leave a comment it bumps me offf!!!!! Ahhhh!!!!!!! I write this whole comment and then get down to that stupid retype the letters thing and type in my information that should allow me to send the comment and it says wrong password!!! Seems like warm weather agrees with you best. I think maybe the reason you got sick was all the changes your body underwent as soon as you got there. Jet lag, cold weather blast, cold water blast, lack of sleep and all new stuff!! Yikes, that is alot for one with an already ear infection to take in a matter of days. AND I agree, it seems like it has been alot longer then two weeks since you have left! Two weeks down, eight and a half months to go!! By the end it will feel like it flew by tho. Look forward to seeing the video and pics! :)
I would say try highlighting your entire comment, right clicking, and hitting "copy" before you type in that code. Then if it kicks you off you have it saved and can just right click and hit "paste" to put your comment back in.
And, yeah, I do think the temperature change, especially the freezing pool, had a bit to do with me getting sick! But all is well now :)
